Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Mountain View, CA seeks an experienced hardware verification engineer. You will lead design verification across multiple hardware domains, manage failure analysis, and drive manufacturing test strategies with hands-on lab execution.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in hardware bring-up, system-level understanding, and strong documentation skills. Role requires leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to deliver thorough test plans on time.

Qualifications

• 10 years minimum experience with hardware bring-up, design validation, manufacturing, and troubleshooting.
• Deep understanding of computer systems across electrical, functional, logical, software, mechanical, thermal domains.
• Experience applying hardware evaluation methodologies (lab measurements, data analysis, infrastructure setup and maintenance).
• Strong Program Mgmt skills; lead multi-disciplinary group with minimal supervision and thorough test plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design Verification across multiple hardware domains (SI/PI, RF, Antenna, Thermal, Reliability, Compliance).
• Manage Failure Analysis for hardware across product lifecycle (DV, Manufacturing, Reliability, Field).
• Drive Manufacturing Test Strategy including FP/ICT, BFТ, Run-in.
• Oversee Lab Operations: hardware lab environments, asset tracking, configuration, setup, rework.
• Provide hands-on support for Electrical, Functional, RF, Radar, Reliability, Thermal testing initiatives.
• Support Manufacturing Builds: materials readiness, training, resolve FA issues.
• Lead Hardware Sustaining: post-launch quality, EoL responses, PRQ initiatives.
• [Optional] Develop HW Test Tools: create, optimize, maintain test scripts and automation tools.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead Design Verification (DV): Drive the creation, execution, and reporting of comprehensive test plans across multiple hardware domains (e.g., SI/PI, RF, Antenna, Thermal, Reliability, and Compliance).
• Manage Failure Analysis (FA): Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for all hardware failure analysis activities across the product lifecycle (DV, Manufacturing, Reliability, Field, etc.).
• Drive Manufacturing Test Strategy: Develop, plan, and oversee manufacturing hardware test strategies, including FP/ICT, BFT, and Run-in
• Oversee Lab Operations: Manage hardware lab environments, including hardware allocation, tracking, configuration, setup, and rework processes.
• Cross-Functional Testing Support: Provide hands‑on support for ongoing Electrical, Functional, RF, Radar, Reliability, Thermal testing initiatives.
• Support Manufacturing Builds: Ensure successful manufacturing builds by managing materials readiness, providing training, and resolving production FA issues.
• Lead Hardware Sustaining Efforts: Drive post‑launch hardware quality improvements, manage field quality FA, coordinate End‑of‑Life (EoL) responses, and lead PRQ initiatives.

Salary Range: $100,000-$125,000 a year
