Wee Friends Child Care Center II in Commerce Township, MI is seeking a passionate Lead GSRP Teacher to deliver high-quality early childhood education through Michigan's Great Start Readiness Program. As Lead Teacher, you will plan, assess, and collaborate with families, mentor assistants, and participate in GSRP professional development to ensure every child thrives in a nurturing classroom.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's or CDA/Associate in Early Childhood and a Michigan teaching

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required for GSRP Lead Teacher) or a valid CDA/Associates degree.
• Michigan teaching certificate or ability to obtain one preferred.
• Experience in a GSRP/Head Start or preschool classroom setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Michigan's Great Start Readiness Program guidelines.
• Experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD or similar assessment tools.
• Strong communication and family engagement skills.

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate GSRP curriculum aligned with Michigan's Early Childhood Standards of Quality.
• Conduct child assessments and maintain accurate developmental records using approved tools.
• Build and maintain a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with families through regular communication, home visits, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides.
• Participate in required GSRP professional development, training, and program evaluations.
• Coordinate with support staff, administrators, and community partners to meet the needs of each child.

• Experience with child assessment tools such as Teaching Strategies GOLD

• Ability to pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements
