Job summary

Alvest Equipment Services (AES) is seeking a Lead GSE Mechanic to maintain and repair ground support equipment such as tow tractors, belt loaders, and pushback tractors at the Tampa International Airport in Tampa, FL.

Expect an hourly pay rate of $33.00–$35.00 with opportunities for ASE certifications and overtime. The role requires 1–4 years of related experience, ability to lift 50+ lbs, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years' experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems.
• Diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair background preferred.
• Must provide own hand tools and be able to lift 50+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Use Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to document all repairs.
• Follow safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA).

Compensation:

The expected pay rate for this position is $33.00 - $35.00 per hour. The actual pay rate offered may vary on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications and/or location.

Work Schedule

Shift:7:30pm - 4:30pm Monday - Friday

ADDITIONAL INCENTIVES

AS A GSE MECHANIC

You'll maintain and repair various ground support equipment (GSE), including tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, deicers, and more. You'll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems and ensure proper documentation, safety, and quality standards are met. Position is based at the Tampa International Airport in Tampa, FL.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• 1-4 years' experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems
• Diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair background
• Strong troubleshooting skills and computer proficiency
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions
• Must provide own hand tools
• Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., and possess a valid driver's license
• Team player with the ability to work independently

NICE TO HAVE CERTIFICATIONS

• Med/Heavy Truck or Light TruckAutomotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
