Job summary

Alvest Equipment Services (AES) in Honolulu, HI, is seeking a GSE Mechanic to maintain and repair tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, deicers, and more. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems and ensure safety, documentation, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years’ experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems.
• Diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair background.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Use MIS to document all repairs.
• Follow safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA).

ADDITIONAL INCENTIVES

• Earn more by completing your ASE certifications in T-Series Medium/Heavy Equipmentor A-Series Light Truck and receive a one-time bonus for becoming a Certified Master Technician. As an employee, the first test attempt paid for by AES.
• The position is eligible for a sign on bonus in the amount of $5,000
  • $3,000 will be paid after 90 days of employment
  • $2,000 will be paid after 6 months of employment

AS A GSE MECHANIC

You’ll maintain and repair various ground support equipment (GSE), including tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, deicers, and more. You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems and ensure proper documentation, safety, and quality standards are met.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems

• Use Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to document all repairs
• Follow safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA)

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• 1–4 years’ experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems
• Diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair background
• Strong troubleshooting skills and computer proficiency
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions
• Must provide own hand tools
• Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., and possess a valid driver’s license
• Team player with the ability to work independently

NICE TO HAVE CERTIFICATIONS

• Med/Heavy Truck or Light TruckAutomotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
