Job description

The GPO Lead oversees Premier Franchise Management’s group purchasing program, driving program growth, optimizing rebate performance, and securing strategic vendor partnerships. This results-driven leadership role focuses on actively expanding vendor networks, negotiating favorable commercial terms, and securing high-value event sponsorships. The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with proactive business development strategies to elevate program yield and deliver quantifiable savings across the franchise network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rebate & Procurement Strategy: Direct end-to-end franchisee purchasing performance relative to rebate thresholds. Identify underperforming categories proactively and execute strategies to maximize rebate returns.
  • Vendor Compliance Management: Drive system-wide compliance with approved vendor programs. Identify non-compliance trends and engage directly with franchise partners to enforce purchasing standards.
  • Vendor Negotiations & Contract Management: Lead Requests for Proposal (RFPs), vendor selection, and contract renewals. Negotiate aggressive pricing models, favorable rebate terms, and value-added services to optimize bottom-line performance.
  • Spend Analytics & Executive Reporting: Develop and maintain complex reporting models. Transform raw purchasing and spend data into executive-level insights, highlighting yield performance, franchise savings, and category growth opportunities.
  • Franchise Communications Strategy: Design and manage system-wide communication campaigns regarding procurement initiatives, promotional windows, program updates, and compliance deadlines to drive engagement and clarity.
  • Program Implementation & Operational Rollout: Oversee the deployment of new purchasing initiatives, ensuring seamless adoption and operational alignment across all franchise locations.
  • Event Procurement & Sponsorship Revenue: Direct vendor involvement and event logistics for four annual sales events. Drive corporate sponsorship acquisition for key major annual events, including the Summit and Owners Retreat, to maximize non-dues revenue.
  • Vendor Relations & Escalation Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex franchise procurement issues, facilitating rapid resolution and strong operational support.
  • Strategic Business Development: Identify and capture emerging rebate channels, new supplier categories, and untapped purchasing opportunities to systematically expand program scope and revenue.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in corporate procurement, supply chain management, or GPO program management (franchise system or GPO experience highly preferred).
  • Deal-Making & Sponsorship Capture: Proven track record of securing strategic supplier partnerships, negotiating favorable terms, and driving sponsorship revenue.
  • Negotiation & Value Creation: Skilled negotiator comfortable engaging directly with senior supplier representatives to secure competitive advantages and lower total cost of ownership.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data modeling, quantitative analysis, financial forecasting) to analyze spend patterns and structure complex rebate tiers.
  • Leadership & Autonomy: Strong self-starter capable of driving initiatives independently, with a high degree of cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal teams.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Program Growth: Year-over-year increase in total GPO program yield, including gross rebate revenues, vendor cost savings, and event sponsorship funding.
  • Data Integrity & Reconciliation: Accurate, timely tracking and reconciliation of purchase volumes, supplier payments, and financial reporting.
  • Network Compliance: High rate of franchisee adoption and adherence to approved vendor programs.
  • Contract & Operational Execution: Strong execution of supplier rollouts, vendor renewals, and major event vendor commitments.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an results-oriented procurement professional with strong business acumen and a performance-driven mindset. They bring a consultative yet firm approach to vendor negotiations, advanced analytical skills to substantiate deal structures, and the initiative needed to continuously scale program performance and profitability.
