Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Lead to join its facilities team. Under the Facilities Manager, you will oversee mowing, edging, pruning, and debris cleanup while leading a team and prioritizing daily work flow.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, assigning tasks, and ensuring safe, efficient operation. A California driver’s license and ability to work varied schedules, including evenings and weekends, are required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ of experience in grounds maintenance or gardening; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lead and serve as a Unit Resource for staff.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license.
• Available to work alternate schedules and overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Background check and DMV Pull Notice System requirements apply.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, incumbent mows, rakes, and edges lawns, trims bushes and trees, and cleans up debris as required. Incumbent will assume responsible for the care and maintenance of tools and will function as a Lead by making daily assignments and prioritizing work flow.

• Two years’ of experience in grounds maintenance or gardening; or an equivalent combination of education and experience


• Skill to effectively lead and serve as a Unit Resource for staff


• Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license


• Must be available to work alternate work schedules and overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed


• Employment contingent upon completion of satisfactory background investigation. Position is subject to the California DMV's \"Pull Notice System\" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
