Job summary

UCLA Facilities Management is seeking a dedicated Laborer to support outdoor maintenance across the campus’s 419 acres, including lawns, walkways, courtyards and fields. You will assist trades, follow written orders, and help preserve the campus’s health and beauty.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and reliable attendance, with potential weekend/overtime shifts. Applicants should possess a CA driver license and a valid CA noncommercial license, with forklift/pallet jack skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Equipment Working knowledge of equipment and materials used by the various trades, e.g., pick, shovel, sledge hammer, and a variety of garden / yard tools.
• Ability to work as part of a team through close collaboration with colleagues.
• Skill in reading standard English text in order to follow through on written orders and carry out assignments.
• Communication and writing skills to obtain or convey clear, concise and grammatically correct information.
• Working knowledge of the standard trade-related safety practices and methods.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends.
• Forklift and pallet jack operation (Preferred).
