Job summary

Academy District 20 is seeking a Lead Technician I for Grounds in Colorado Springs. The role supervises grounds staff, oversees seeding, mowing, trimming of fields, and planting and pruning of trees on district grounds.

The position requires around-the-clock response to grounds emergencies and coordination with other district departments. The ideal candidate will have skilled-trades training and experience directing maintenance operations, and must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Colorado driver’s license and DMV credentials.
• Experience directing maintenance operations in a school or similar setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise grounds staff and oversee field maintenance.
• Plan mowing, seeding, fertilizing, and trimming of playing fields.
• Planting, pruning, and irrigation of district grounds.
• Respond to grounds emergencies around the clock.
• Coordinate with district departments for maintenance services.
• Maintain records of work performed and parts used.
