Job summary

Space Systems Integration, SSI, is seeking a Lead Ground Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to act as a SETA advisor for a government customer. You’ll oversee a Prime Contractor’s satellite ground solution focusing on GCS, TT&C, health status, and mission management.

You will review design milestones, ICDs, and V&V activities to ensure integration within the enterprise framework and drive rapid technical resolution for accelerated fielding.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Space Ground Systems Engineering or SETA advisory.
• Strong background in C2, TT&C, Health & Status, or Mission Management.
• Experience evaluating contractor performance through PDR, CDR, ICD, and V&V.
• Understanding of system-of-systems integration and network interfaces.
• Familiarity with AWS/Cloud, microservices, Kubernetes to evaluate designs.
• TS/SCI CI Poly clearance

Responsibilities

• Act as government customer’s trusted technical advisor to evaluate ground designs and risks.
• Review Prime Contractor architectural deliveries, ICDs, and interfaces.
• Lead system-level evaluations during PDR and CDR milestones.
• Perform deep-dive evaluations of ground concepts and module interactions.
• Oversee contractor testing and V&V activities for mission requirements.
• Drive rapid technical resolution and balance program trade-offs
