Job summary

Space Systems Integration (SSI) in Chantilly, VA seeks a Lead Ground Systems Engineer to serve as a SETA advisor to a government customer, guiding a Prime Contractor on a bespoke satellite ground solution centered on C2, TT&C, health and mission management. You will assess architectures, drive design milestones, and ensure seamless integration into the Enterprise framework.

You will oversee PDR/CDR evaluations, ICD development, and V&V activities, ensuring the ground system meets mission

Qualifications

• 10+ years in space ground systems engineering or SETA/advisory support.
• Strong background in C2/TT&C or mission management.
• Experience evaluating contractor performance at PDR/CDR, ICDs, and V&V.
• Understanding of system-of-systems integration and enterprise cloud architectures.
• TS/SCI CI Poly clearance.

Responsibilities

• Act as government customer's trusted technical advisor to evaluate ground system designs and acceptance.
• Review contractor architectural deliveries and ICDs for enterprise compatibility.
• Lead system-level evaluations at PDR and CDR milestones.
• Analyze ground concepts and module interactions; no hands-on coding required.
• Oversee testing and V&V activities to verify performance before fielding.
• Drive rapid technical resolutions and balance program trade-offs to accelerate fielding.
