Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. seeks an experienced Lead, Systems Engineering Architect to enhance a ground processing system in Melbourne, FL. The role interfaces with customers, engineering, security and management to define requirements, trade analyses and affordable designs while managing risk.

The successful candidate will guide architecture development, oversee system views, and mentor teammates. Security clearance eligibility and NOAA Trust are considered.

Qualifications

• Experience with the full lifecycle of complex engineering projects from conception to delivery.
• Experience with systems engineering principles including requirements management, architecture design, integration, testing and verification.
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience; graduate degree adds value; in lieu of a degree, 8 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer mission needs to identify solution space and requirements gaps.
• Design and implement ground system enhancements through architecture solutions.
• Determine whether enhancements can be met with existing capabilities or require new designs.
• Collaborate with development, operations and security teams to deploy ground solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on technologies and best practices.
• Generate system architecture views and decompose proposed solutions into configuration items.
• Lead development of appropriate solutions to customer needs.
• Must be able to obtain a NOAA Public Trust.
