Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline plus professional certification (CPA and/or CGFM preferred).
• Minimum 4 years public accounting experience or 7 years government finance/accounting in a state/local entity.
• Practical knowledge of GASB standards and related financial reporting.
• Experience auditing or assisting with governmental financial close and internal controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to manage projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and perform engagements including ACFR preparation, new accounting standards implementations, and government accounting support.
• Identify client accounting challenges, develop advisory solutions, and manage engagement scope and timelines.
• Review ACFR for accuracy against benchmarks and report findings to executive clients.
• Supervise staff, develop team members, and deliver technical content and client deliverables.
• Develop external relationships and contribute to business development for GPS accounting advisory group.
