Job summary

Auburn Hills Golf Club in Virginia’s Blue Ridge region seeks an Assistant Superintendent to lead the grounds staff and oversee day-to-day maintenance of a 18-hole course. The role includes implementing turf health programs, coordinating maintenance tasks, and ensuring safe, efficient operations in all weather conditions.

Qualified candidates will have 3–4 years of golf course experience and possess a valid driver’s license and a VA Pesticide Certificate.

Valid driver's license (state) for vehicle type.
VA Pesticide Certificate.
3–4 years of golf course experience.

Responsibilities

Performs the implementation of an overall turf health program.
Includes aeration, topdressing, and application of pesticides, fertilizer, and chemicals to golf course turf.
Directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course.
Operates golf course equipment (mowers, utility vehicles, sweepers, etc.).
Communicates with Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf Operations on operational issues.
Interviews, hires, motivates, trains, and leads grounds staff; prepares schedules.
Manages purchasing, replenishing, and inventory of materials, chemicals, and supplies.
Keeps accurate records on expenditures, inventory, maintenance procedures, and pesticide applications.
