Job summary

Ursa Major seeks a Guidance Navigation and Controls Analysis Engineer to lead development of GNC capabilities for propulsion and flight systems. You will build robust GNC models, implement embedded software, and run simulations across HIL and flight-test contexts.

You'll collaborate across mechanical, avionics, and software teams to ensure control designs meet vehicle constraints, with emphasis on robust, flight-ready solutions for national-security applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Eng, CS, or related field.
• Experience developing GNC models and algorithms for aerospace or defense systems.
• Strong understanding of control, estimation, and vehicle dynamics.
• Experience implementing algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, or Python.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain flight GNC systems for aerospace applications.
• Translate GNC requirements into models and embedded software.
• Develop simulations to evaluate guidance, navigation, and control performance.
• Coordinate with design to align vehicle parameters with control system requirements.
• Support system integration, HIL, and flight test activities.
• Analyze test and flight data to assess performance and drive improvements.
• Document designs and test results for stakeholders.
