Job summary

Golden West Packaging Group seeks an experienced Gluer/Finishing Operator to oversee gluing machines and direct line productivity. You will perform line clearance, set-ups, 1st article inspections, and ensure carton quality while reducing waste and rework.

You will weigh waste, document job tickets, and assist with maintenance as needed. Strong math, writing, and computer skills, plus 3–5 years in folding carton manufacturing, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Three plus years of experience as a Gluer/Finishing Operator in a manufacturing folding carton plant is highly desirable.
• Experience setting up and operating gluing machines, producing side seam, auto bottom, reverse fold, window cartons on various substrates, coatings and laminates such as foil, UV, and aqueous coatings is required.
• Experience setting up and operating glue extrusion units, case packers and performing operator level maintenance
• High school Diploma
• 3-5+ years in industry specific experience

Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee gluing machines to ensure quality cartons.
• Direct the work of team members to maximize productivity and perform line clearance when jobs are completed.
• Weigh waste and document waste and cases on job tickets; maintain line and process documentation.
• Perform operator-level maintenance on glue machines and related equipment.
• Perform make-readies, in-process adjustments, and 1st article inspections.
• Reduce carton waste and rework while ensuring quality.
• Read and understand job tickets and ensure correct setup and execution.
• Manage feeding, packing, and carton handling; monitor carton quality and batch counts.
• Complete job orders and verify production counts against orders.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance on the line.
• Provide daily feedback to supervision on shift activities and performance.
