Job summary

Takeda seeks a senior capacity planning leader to drive global capacity across sites, product platforms, and supply nodes. You will develop a 0–36 month outlook using demand signals, plans, and constraints, identifying bottlenecks and proposing actionable mitigations.

In this role, you will partner with Site Planning, Global Planning, Finance, SBE, and Commercial, support S&OP/IBP governance, and advance planning models, tools, and data inputs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in capacity, production, or network planning in pharma/biotech or similar regulated manufacturing.
  • Global, cross-functional, multi-site manufacturing network experience; lead through influence.
  • Experience with enterprise planning/ERP systems (SAP, APO, IBP, Kinaxis).
  • Strong scenario modeling, constraint analysis, and integrated business planning experience.
  • Excellent analytical, modeling, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Enterprise mindset with systems thinking, resilience, accountability, and execution discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global capacity planning across multiple sites and platforms.
  • Develop 0–36 month capacity outlook using demand signals and plans.
  • Identify constraints, assess impact, and run scenario analyses.
  • Translate changes into capacity implications for launches and transfers.
  • Partner with Site Planning, Global Planning, Finance, SBE, and Commercial.
  • Support S&OP, IBP, and governance with capacity views and escalation.
  • Develop and standardize planning models, tools, processes, data inputs.
  • Provide network strategy insights on capacity investments and make-or-buy.
  • Strengthen governance, ownership, scenario management, and planning standards.
  • Communicate risks, options, and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Lead scenario-based planning for expansions, launches, and tech transfers.
  • Provide capacity inputs to MRP and MYC volume planning.

Job description

How you will contribute:
  • Lead global capacity planning across multiple manufacturing sites, product platforms, and supply nodes.
  • Develop and maintain a consolidated 0–36-month capacity outlook using demand signals, production plans, assumptions, and operational constraints.
  • Identify capacity constraints, assess business impact, and run scenario analysis to support mitigation and trade-off decisions.
  • Translate demand/supply/network changes into capacity implications (launches, lifecycle changes, technology transfers, portfolio shifts, network initiatives).
  • Partner with Site Planning, Global Planning, Finance, SBE, and Commercial to align assumptions, priorities, and actions.
  • Support S&OP, IBP, and governance forums with transparent capacity views, analytics, and escalation recommendations.
  • Develop/standardize/improve planning models, tools, processes, and data inputs.
  • Provide network strategy insights (capacity investments, debottlenecking, make-or-buy, allocation alternatives).
  • Strengthen governance, ownership, scenario management, and adherence to planning standards.
  • Communicate risks/options/recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Lead scenario-based planning for expansions, launches, and technology transfers.
  • Provide capacity inputs to MRP and MYC volume planning execution.
What you bring to Takeda:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Life Sciences, Business, or related; advanced degree preferred.
  • APICS/CPIM, Lean, or Six Sigma certification desirable.
  • 10+ years’ experience in capacity, production, or network planning in pharma/biotech or other regulated manufacturing.
  • Experience in global, cross-functional, multi-site manufacturing networks; lead through influence.
  • Experience with enterprise planning/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, APO, IBP, Kinaxis).
  • Strong scenario modeling, constraint analysis, integrated business planning, S&OP, and supply review expertise.
  • Excellent analytical, modeling, communication, and presentation skills; ability to convert technical constraints into business decisions.
  • Enterprise mindset and strong systems thinking; resilience, accountability, execution discipline.
Compensation and Benefits (U.S. location only):
  • Base salary range: $154,400.00–$242,550.00.
  • May be eligible for incentives and benefits (medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well-being benefits; up to 80 hours sick time and up to 120 hours paid vacation for new hires).
