Job description

Job Description
About the role

Join us as our Global Capacity Planning Lead. In this critical role, you will enable data-driven, end-to-end capacity decisions across Takeda's global manufacturing network. By integrating demand forecasts, supply plans, asset and resource assumptions, and strategic network considerations, you will provide a clear capacity outlook over the short- to mid-term planning horizon-up to 36 months.

How you will contribute

Working in a global matrix environment, you will partner with Global Supply Chain, Site Planning, Finance, Global Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to identify capacity risks, evaluate mitigation scenarios, and support reliable product supply, inventory optimization, and service performance. Although this role has no direct line-management responsibility, you will influence decisions across functions, sites, and geographies. You will:

  • Lead global capacity planning across multiple manufacturing sites, product platforms, and supply nodes.
  • Develop and maintain a consolidated 0-36-month capacity outlook, incorporating demand signals, production plans, assumptions, and operational constraints.
  • Identify emerging capacity constraints, assess their business impact, and lead scenario analysis to support mitigation and trade-off decisions.
  • Translate demand, supply, and network changes into capacity implications, including launches, lifecycle changes, technology transfers, portfolio shifts, and network initiatives.
  • Partner with Site Planning, Global Planning, Finance, SBE, and Commercial teams to align assumptions, priorities, and actions.
  • Support S&OP, IBP, and governance forums with transparent capacity views, decision-ready analytics, and escalation recommendations.
  • Develop, standardize, and continuously improve planning models, tools, processes, and data inputs.
  • Provide insights for network strategy discussions, including capacity investments, debottlenecking, make-or-buy decisions, and allocation alternatives.
  • Strengthen governance, ownership, scenario management, and adherence to Takeda planning standards.
  • Communicate complex risks, options, and recommendations clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead scenario-based planning for expansions, launches, and technology transfers.
  • Provide capacity inputs to MRP and MYC volume planning execution.
What you bring to Takeda
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Relevant supply chain certification, such as APICS/CPIM, Lean, or Six Sigma, is desirable.
  • At least 10 years of experience in capacity planning, production planning, or network planning within pharmaceutical, biotech, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working across global, cross-functional organizations and complex, multi-site manufacturing networks.
  • A proven ability to lead through influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with enterprise planning and ERP systems such as SAP, APO, IBP, Kinaxis, or equivalent tools.
  • Manufacturing-site experience is an advantage.
  • Strong expertise in scenario modeling, constraint analysis, integrated business planning, S&OP, and supply review processes.
  • Excellent analytical, modeling, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to translate technical capacity constraints into clear business decisions.
  • An enterprise mindset, strong systems thinking, resilience, accountability, and execution discipline.
  • A commitment to Takeda's values, including prioritizing patients, building trust, collaborating across boundaries, thinking strategically, driving innovation, delivering on commitments, and developing organizational capability.
  • A change-oriented mindset and the ability to identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities.
