Owens Corning, a leader in building materials, seeks a Glass Melting Engineer to advance melting systems, furnace design, and process optimization. You will collaborate with plant batch & furnace engineers and lead safety-driven technical initiatives across North American sites.

The role engages in startup activities, heat-ups, refractory work, data analysis, and deployment of new technologies, with up to 60% travel. Base salary ranges from $92,000 to $119,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 2–3 years manufacturing experience in glass melting.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% across North American locations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates commitment to safety and provides technical guidance for safety.
• Authors SOPs and JHAs for new method development.
• Provides division-level technical leadership for glass melting operations.
• Lead or support batch house operations, furnace heat-ups, and related projects.
• Review data from batch operations and melting systems to improve safety, productivity, and energy use.
• Lead startup activities for new/rebuilt furnaces and related infrastructure.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
