Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC is seeking a Lead GIS Engineer to guide a production GIS team focused on architecture, data quality, and reliable geospatial services. You will own ETL design, automation, and data governance while mentoring engineers and collaborating with Esri and product teams.

The role is open to Remote US or Canada with occasional travel, and offers leadership opportunities within EPE’s growing energy intelligence practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6+ years of professional GIS engineering experience, with 2+ years in technical lead roles.
• Deep hands-on experience across Esri stack: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online.
• Production experience designing and operating ETL workflows for utility data.
• Strong Python skills for spatial automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for GIS datasets, ETL workflows, and geospatial services.
• Drive automation roadmap with hands-on design and implementation.
• Own data quality definitions, schema standards, and QA/QC processes.
• Manage GIS environments across ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Oversee hosted GIS infrastructure, data pipelines, and portal management.
• Mentor analysts and engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Coordinate with Esri and partner programs for roadmap input.
• Collaborate with software product teams on data requirements and delivery.
• Represent EPE at GIS conferences and client engagements.
