Job summary

The GIS Analyst position at Sacbar in Sacramento, CA is responsible for designing, programming, testing, and maintaining the District’s GIS, as well as creating databases and maps using both manual and automated methods.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field, at least three years in GIS with two years in a lead role, and a California driver license. ESRI ArcGIS experience is essential and some partial remote scheduling may be available.

Qualifications

• Three years of GIS design, operations, and automated mapping experience.
• Two years in a lead/supervisory role over GIS staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Cartography, Geography, or related field.
• Valid California driver license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test, and maintain the District’s GIS and databases.
• Oversee GIS platform and quality control on data downloads.
• Produce maps and graphical outputs from manual and automated processes.
• Prepare RFPs and manage vendor/consultant relationships.
• Plan, assign, and supervise GIS staff to ensure accuracy.
