Job summary

GeoStabilization International (GSI) is seeking a Working Superintendent – Geohazard Mitigation to lead field crews across the Western U.S. on geotechnical and geohazard mitigation projects.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, safety, and delivering high-quality work. You will manage schedules, budgets, and coordination with travel partners, while developing your crew and advancing toward senior operations roles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction managing geotechnical or slope/soils projects.
• 1+ year in lead hand, foreman or working superintendent roles.
• Ability to read scopes, specs, drawings, and execute a project plan.
• Experience motivating crews and delivering high-quality work.
• Strong communication, clear and solution-oriented.
• Able to travel and adjust schedules.
• Driver’s license, CDL A a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews on geotechnical and geohazard mitigation projects across the Western U.S.
• Develop and implement safety plans prioritizing crew safety.
• Manage schedule, production, and budget performance.
• Maintain documentation: daily logs, photos, and as-builts.
• Coach crew members and conduct performance reviews.
• Coordinate crew travel and logistics with Travel and Project Management teams.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and jobsite organization.
• Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams.
