Placements24 is seeking a Lead Bioinformatician to drive genomics research strategies in the United States. You will design analyses for large-scale sequencing data, develop pipelines, and lead a team of bioinformaticians, working alongside experimental biologists and clinicians.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a quantitative field with 7+ years in genomics, expert Python/R skills, and experience with HPC and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field is required with genomics emphasis.
• 7+ years progressive experience in bioinformatics focusing on genomics.
• Strong programming skills in Python and R with shell scripting.
• Experience with HPC clusters and cloud platforms is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of analyses for high-throughput sequencing data.
• Develop robust bioinformatics pipelines and annotation tools.
• Mentor and manage a team of bioinformaticians; foster collaboration.
• Collaborate with experimental scientists to integrate data types.
