Job Description Summary

The Lead Generator Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design of hydro generator mechanical components for installed-based projects. He/she will also provide technical support for supply chain and site activities related to hydro generators.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver design work packages for hydro generator projects using technical guidelines and reference projects.
• Collaborate with engineering COEs worldwide.
• Lead design review meetings with engineers, functions, and consulting engineers.
• Supervise design engineers and draftsmen to deliver calculations, specifications, drawings, and BOMs.
• Provide technical support during the entire lifecycle of generator components.
• Apply rules for reliability, quality, safety, and cost.
• Assist project engineering managers in project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• Strong skills in strength of materials.
• Knowledge of non-destructive examination methods, materials, and welding.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in generator mechanical design (stators, rotors, bearings, brackets).
• Proactiveness, sense of urgency, autonomy.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Good analytical skills.
• Team player, positive attitude, willing to learn and adapt.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or eligible to become licensed soon.
• Willingness to travel occasionally in North America.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of CAD tools.
• Experience in the hydro industry.
