Job summary

Indiana University Health in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a General Surgery Physician Leader to guide and grow our forthcoming facility scheduled to open in early 2027. This role combines clinical oversight with executive leadership, directing general surgery services and driving operational excellence.

You will oversee case management, quality, and recruitment of surgical talent, while maintaining inpatient and outpatient duties and collaborating with a patient‑centered care team committed to IU

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• ABO/Surgery board eligible or certified.
• Able to obtain IN licensure.
• 3+ years of leadership/management experience preferred.
• Demonstrates a commitment to IU Health's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general surgery cases and lead all clinical services.
• Direct and manage the surgical program to achieve specialty goals.
• Assist with physician recruitment and workforce planning.
• Inpatient and outpatient duties with shared call and administrative time for leadership duties.
