Central Health in Austin, TX is seeking a skilled general surgeon to join a growing practice. The role includes seeing patients in clinic, performing outpatient general surgery in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, and supervising staff. There is opportunity for hospital-based cases as well.

The candidate must have an MD or DO, completed general surgery residency, and hold an unrestricted Texas license. Board certification within two years and a DEA license are required; BLS is required at hire.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency in General Surgery.
• Unrestricted Texas medical license.
• Board certification or passage of Board Certification Examination within two years of employment.
• Current DEA license.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).

Responsabilités

• Perform surgeries and surgical care in an Ambulatory Surgery Center.
• Prescribe medications and therapies related to surgical treatment.
• Instruct patients and families regarding procedures, plan of care, and follow‑ up.
• Direct professional and ancillary staff during treatment of patients.
• Record patient data in the electronic medical record and coordinate care.
• Communicate clearly with staff and patients in person and by phone.
• Lead and motivate medical providers under supervision; participate in evaluations.
• Provide up to 40 hours of direct clinical practice per week.
