Job summary

Equify Financial in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a General Counsel to serve as lead legal advisor to the CEO and leadership team. You will provide strategic legal counsel across secured lending, equipment finance, asset-based lending, restructurings, and regulatory compliance to enable growth while maintaining risk controls.

The role requires JD, bar admission, 5–10 years in commercial finance, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and experience advising senior leaders.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and US bar admission.
• Approximately 5–10 years of legal experience with secured commercial lending or related areas.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and present actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on secured lending, equipment finance, and private credit transactions.
• Draft, negotiate, and review credit documents, intercreditor and security agreements.
• Advise leadership on legal risks in portfolio management and structuring transactions.
• Oversee outside counsel and manage legal expenditures as needed.
