Job summary

Neurocrine Biosciences seeks an experienced Lead Generation Biology professional to design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex biochemical and cell-based assays across discovery projects. You will establish robust assays in biologically relevant cell systems and generate high-quality data to inform project decisions.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in scientific field with 4+ years in vitro pharmacology experience or MS/MA with 2+ years, or PhD with related experience.
• Experience developing, optimizing and routinely executing cell-based and biochemical assays.
• Hands-on experience with primary mammalian cell culture (PBMCs or CNS-relevant cells) desired.
• Familiarity with flow cytometry, ELISA, HTRF, AlphaLISA, MSD, and BLI is preferred.
• Ability to analyze complex data, translate results into biological insights, and communicate implications to teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop and optimize complex biochemical and cell-based assays for hit-to-lead to development candidates.
• Analyze concentration-response relationships, assay performance, and data variability; propose follow-up experiments.
• Perform molecular biology techniques as needed to understand MOA (e.g., Western blotting, transient transfections).
• Support assay transfer and external studies with CROs by reviewing protocols and data and troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with disease-biology scientists to translate hypotheses into in vitro assay strategies and plans.
