Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking a Lead Service Technician to perform maintenance and service of natural gas compression equipment across customer sites in the US. The role reports to the Area Service Manager and emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school certification, college degree or related experience.
• 7+ years of gas compression experience, preference for CAT/Ariel/Cummins.
• CAT Gas Engine II, Troubleshooting and Electronics certifications; ADEM 3/4, Ariel Mechanics 1/2.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service skills.
• Self-management with potential management experience a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude including electrical aspects of gas compression.
• Ability to teach and mentor Field Service Technicians.
• Experience reading technical manuals.
• Knowledge of HSE procedures and regulations.
• Experience configuring natural gas compression equipment.
• Proficiency with computers and field technology.
• Willingness to work extended hours and travel up to 90%.

Responsibilities

• Involved in startups, major maintenance, failures, overhauls, and advanced diagnostics.
• Lead and mentor Field Service Technicians and assist in their development.
• Maintain run time of gas compression units per contracts.
• Respond quickly to customer inquiries and coordinate with ASM.
• Work with sales to identify new opportunities for service or equipment.
• Ensure adequate parts inventory and equipment readiness.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and safe driving practices.
• Support in supervisory duties when ASM absent, and follow safety policies.
