Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP in the United States seeks a skilled field maintenance technician responsible for preserving idle equipment, performing repairs, and reconfiguring cylinders to meet new contract needs. You will report to the Operations Service Manager and help keep yards safe and productive.

Candidates should have technical or trade certification or related experience, at least 2 years in natural gas compression, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read manuals, operate

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school certification or additional work experience in related field.
• Preferred at least 2 years of experience in natural gas compression.
• Valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record history acceptable to USA Compression. Good communication/interface skills with customer field personnel, onsite vendors, and other tech teams.
• Ability to operate independently with little or no supervision.
• High degree of mechanical ability.
• Experience reading and understanding technical manuals.
• Experience in configuring natural gas compression equipment.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and supervisor including training, procedures, instructions, etc.
• Applicant must have the ability to legally work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all safety and environmental policies.
• Preserve and seal idle units as they return to the storage yards.
• Roll over and re-preserve units that remain idle on a 180 day rotation.
• Repair packages and make ready for redeployment into active status.
• Perform major and minor scheduled maintenance procedures on idle units as necessary.
• Reconfigure compressor cylinder arrangements as required to meet new contract needs.
• Repair and maintain the heavy equipment inventory (HEI).
• General housekeeping by helping to keep warehouse facilities and yards free from trash and debris.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of units as they enter and leave the storage yards.Safely operate truck mounted cranes, fork lifts and other portable lifting equipment.
• Maintain company vehicle according to company guidelines.
• Help maintain parts inventory for storage yards.
• Keep units clean and maintain safe working conditions.
• Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
