Job summary

MGM Resorts International seeks a horticulture professional to maintain world-class floral displays and seasonal exhibits at the Bellagio Conservatory. You will oversee horticulture operations, lead a crew, plan tasks with managers, and ensure MGMRI standards of service are met across properties.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and relevant experience. Two-year horticulture degree preferred, with opportunities to advance in a high-end resort environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must obtain a valid driver's license.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Two-year degree or certificate in Ornamental Horticulture or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of prior relevant experience required.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in commercial landscape maintenance or resort environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain world-class floral displays, themed installations, seasonal exhibits, and plant collections.
• Drive and operate company vehicles between properties and transport materials.
• Direct daily assignments and coordinate with managers and stakeholders.
• Perform site inspections and prioritize workload across Bellagio Conservatory displays.
• Assist with purchasing, inventory, and budgeting coordination.

THE JOB:

Responsible for supporting the Bellagio Conservatory's horticulture operations by maintaining world-class floral displays, themed installations, seasonal exhibits, and plant collections while ensuring MGMRI standards of service are consistently delivered to guests and coworkers.

THE STARTING RATE:

$21.50 Per Hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Responsible for always maintaining the MGMRI standards of service to guests and coworkers.
• Ensures the principal duties and responsibilities of horticulture classifications are properly performed.
• Drive and operate company vehicles and/or horticulture-related equipment to travel between properties and transport materials and equipment.
• Direct daily assignments while working with the crew on tasks, events, projects, Bellagio Conservatory displays, or other horticulture-related duties; troubleshoot and shift priorities as needed.
• Communicate, plan, and follow up on assignments with managers and stakeholders.
• Perform regular site inspections in areas of responsibility, including Bellagio Conservatory installations and displays, to prioritize workload, including shift coverage and design work as needed.
• Assist with purchasing duties and maintain inventory while coordinating with management for budgetary and tracking purposes.
• Assist with teaching laborers and gardeners on proper horticulture practices and industry standards.
• Clean and maintain gardening tools, equipment, and supply areas to ensure good working conditions.
• Follow MGMRI policies and procedures for mobile devices to include work order creation, response, and completion.
• Inspect the work area to identify and correct any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Must be 21 years of age older
• Must obtain a valid driver's license
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Required
• Two-year degree or certificate in Ornamental Horticulture or related field Preferred
• 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience Related Experience Required
• 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in Supervisory experience Preferred
• 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in high end/high volume horticulture environments Preferred
• 4+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in working in Commercial landscape maintenance or Resort environment Preferred
