Cloud Chamber in California seeks a Lead Gameplay Animator to shape character performance and movement for its BioShock-inspired project. You will guide a team of animators, collaborate across design, art, engineering, and animation to deliver high-end gameplay and AI animations for compelling first- and third-person experiences.

The role requires shipped AAA titles, deep knowledge of animation systems, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Shipped multiple AAA titles in a lead/senior animator role.
• Deep knowledge of gameplay and AI animation systems.
• Strong experience with Unreal Engine and mocap workflows.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of animators with regular 1:1s and evaluations.
• Set animation vision with leadership and uphold studio values.
• Develop animation pipelines, onboarding, Unreal Engine 5 training, and mocap planning.
• Deliver high-quality hand-key and motion-captured animations for FPS and third-person characters.
• Collaborate on milestone roadmaps, sprint planning, and hiring.
