Qualifications

• Must pass background check; follow rules, regulations, and company procedures; be 18 years of age.
• Must have one of the following valid and current certificates or credentials from a recognized institution approved by Bright from the Start:
  • Georgia Teacher Certificate issued by the Professional Standards Commission (PSC) in Early Childhood Education, Birth through Five endorsement, Special Education General Curriculum Consultative/ECE, or out-of-state, valid, and current official teaching certificates in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or Elementary Education or a related field.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate or higher.
• CPR and 1st Aid Certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Must maintain state in-service training requirements and GA Pre-K Training requirements.
• Positive, cheerful, dependable, and people-oriented—enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects.

Duties

The GA Pre-K Lead Teacher is responsible for classroom management and supervision, personal care, hygiene, and positive discipline of children. Responsibilities include maintaining classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness, planning and implementing activities to promote social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth, and communicating with parents about children's progress. The teacher must also notify the Director or parents about potential issues.

Requirements

• Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience.
• Age requirement: 21 years or older, with an exception for lead teachers holding a valid bachelor’s degree or higher teaching credential.
• Ability to meet state background check requirements.
• Education qualifications:
  • Four-year degree
  • Four-year degree with T4 Certification
  • Master's degree with T5 Certification

Benefits

Salary is based on Georgia Pre-K 2025-2026 Reimbursement Rates, ranging from $26,449 to $45,343, with experience compensation up to $15,000 per year, paid over 10 months.
