Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-stack Engineer 4 to lead a portfolio of microservices and full stack systems in a fast-paced transformation effort. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, and deliver scalable cloud-based solutions using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS across multiple teams.

You’ll participate in architectural discussions, drive standards, and help reduce technical debt while maintaining strong delivery velocity in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems to create solutions that meet regulatory needs.
• Mentor other engineers, stay current with tech trends, and participate in internal/external tech communities.
• Collaborate with product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions for user experiences at scale.
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript across services and data stores.
• Provide technical leadership and set design/ops standards across Agile teams.
• Define service boundaries and reusable integration frameworks with architects.
• Identify refactoring opportunities to reduce debt and improve performance.
• Influence long-term tech strategy in a build-it-and-own-it environment.
