Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer 4 to lead a portfolio of microservices and cloud-based solutions across Java, Scala, Python, and the JavaScript/TypeScript stack.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, and work with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and GraphQL to deliver scalable, high-performance systems. GenAI tools will be leveraged to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company
• Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay on top of tech trends
• Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript, AWS tools and services
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and set design/development standards
• Define service boundaries and reusable frameworks with architects
• Identify areas for refactoring to reduce technical debt and enhance performance
• Influence long-term tech strategy in a 'you build it, you own it' environment
