JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Consumer & Community Banking technology group.

You will be a core technical contributor driving architecture decisions, reliability, and engineering standards within an agile team delivering scalable financial technology products. The role requires leadership in design reviews, collaboration with product and tech stakeholders, and hands-on development across services with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and cloud-native

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of applied experience in software development.
• Strong understanding of SDLC from design to operation.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience building services with Spring Boot and event-driven systems with Kafka.
• Hands-on experience delivering production workloads on AWS.
• Proficiency in automation and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions through design, development and troubleshooting.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' work.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation and improve stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architecture and fit.
• Lead communities of practice to drive adoption of new technologies.
• Partner with product and tech stakeholders to translate business needs into tech plans.
• Promote a team culture centered on diversity and inclusion.
