Job summary

Anza Mortgage Insurance Company is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer who will own the backend-first design of one or more domains, shaping data models, APIs, and asynchronous flows. You’ll also guide a small team, review PRs, and ensure quality and delivery across the platform.

The role includes hands-on work in Java/Spring and React, with 60% coding and 40% technical leadership, delivering scalable features within a strong conventions-based codebase.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Deep hands-on Java (17/21) and Spring Boot with REST APIs.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills and safe migrations with Liquibase or Flyway.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of one or more domains across backend and portal tiers.
• Break epics into implementable slices and write design docs/ADRs.
• Lead code reviews, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery quality.
• Coordinate across teams when a feature spans multiple services and portals.
• Build and maintain Spring Boot services exposed through the BFF tier.
