Job summary

Anza is building a mortgage insurance platform with a Java 21/Spring Boot backend and a TypeScript/React portal. The Lead Full-Stack Engineer will design domain services, APIs, data models, and drive delivery with a small team, owning technical decisions end-to-end for one or more domains.

The role is hands-on (about 60% coding) with 40% technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and ensuring quality and timely delivery across backend, BFF, portals, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership with ownership of one or more domains and delivery.
• Strong backend experience with Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
• Proficient TypeScript/React for frontend work and product screens.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction across backend and portal tier; design data models and APIs.
• Break epics into slices, write design docs and ADRs, plan delivery.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and ensure quality and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate across teams for multi-repo features and deployments.
• Build Spring Boot services and expose via the BFF tier; model data in PostgreSQL.
• Implement async flows with a reliable messaging pattern and idempotent ops.
• Lead production debugging and incident response; drive root-cause fixes.
