Job summary

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer to join our team in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on reverse engineering tooling, system architecture, technical leadership, and complex software implementation, with a strong emphasis on a full‑stack background, modern frontend frameworks, Python, and cloud architectures.

You will lead technical planning, break down tasks, and oversee the full stack development lifecycle from inception to deployment in a collaborative lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience leading planning, task prioritization, scheduling, and directing team members.
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Git, containerization and scaling with Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
• Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility and be willing to work 100% in person in a lab environment.

Overview of Opportunity

Two Six Technologies is actively seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer to join our team. The role focuses on reverse engineering tooling, system architecture, technical leadership, and complex software implementation. Candidates should have a full‑stack background, experience with modern frontend frameworks, Python, and cloud‑based architectures.

What you will do:

• Serve as a technical lead, translating high‑level visionary goals into actionable technical plans for critical national security research programs.
• Break down complex deliverables into actionable tasks and oversee the full stack development process from inception to deployment.
• Lead technical implementation teams in an office setting, focusing on hands‑on lab operations in Arlington with occasional travel to Herndon.
• Ensure successful completion of program deliverables through sound technical judgment and leadership of engineering staff.

What you will need (basic qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 7+ years of experience in software engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Proven ability to lead planning and execution of technical tasks, including task prioritization, schedule management, and direction of team members.
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Git, containerization and scaling with Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
• Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility and be willing to work 100% in person in a lab environment.
• Ability to commute to our Arlington, VA office and travel to the Herndon, VA lab facility.

Nice to have (preferred)

• Experience designing and deploying scalable applications within AWS, OpenStack, or other cloud platforms.
• Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks, specifically Vue.js.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code practices and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or OpenTofu.
• Prior experience supporting DoD or national security R&D projects.
• Demonstrated success in mentoring junior and staff‑level engineering staff.

Security Clearance

• Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.
