Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Lead Full-Stack, Data and AI Agent Engineer to build a production-grade agentic AI platform for upstream oil & gas operations.

You will evolve the core that converts engineers’ questions into safe, schema-aware SQL and multi-step reasoning workflows. You will lead the deepagents/LangGraph runtime, design FastAPI endpoints, and implement injection-safe SQL across multi-tenant schemas while integrating AWS Bedrock and RAG retrieval.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering in Python with strong async/await skills.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar framework.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, RDS, and S3.
• Solid SQL/PostgreSQL experience and safety-critical code ownership.
• Deep understanding of LLM APIs and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead ownership of the agent runtime and safety middleware.
• Design FastAPI endpoints with async I/O and SSE streams for real-time responses.
• Implement SELECT-only, injection-safe SQL generation across tenant schemas.
• Integrate AWS Bedrock and manage LLM routing decisions.
• Collaborate on RAG retrieval using vector stores and S3-backed storage.

We are looking for a Lead Full-Stack, Data and AI Agent Engineer to build a production-grade agentic AI platform for upstream oil & gas operations (ESP, gas lift, plunger lift, chemical injection).
