Job summary

Cardless in San Francisco is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to shape the co-branded credit card platform. You’ll own the component library, design system, and consumer apps, while shipping features across user onboarding, account management, and rewards.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, backend, risk, and compliance to ensure scalable, accessible, and high-quality experiences as the company grows, with equity and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years frontend engineering experience with 3+ years in React.
• Strong fundamentals in state management, component architecture, accessibility, testing, and UI quality.
• Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems used across multiple products.
• Ability to move across consumer, partner, and internal surfaces without compromising on craft or user experience.
• Clear communicator who learns quickly and teaches others in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve component library and design system: build scalable, reusable components and establish patterns across consumer apps, partner UIs, and internal tools.
• Build and ship features in the consumer app, from onboarding through account management and rewards.
• Design and build internal tools enabling operations and risk teams.
• Take projects from concept to production: requirements, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend engineering, partners, risk, and compliance to deliver quickly.
• Improve performance, accessibility, observability, and developer experience across the stack.
• Contribute to frontend architecture decisions shaping the platform's evolution.
• Provide technical guidance to peers across engineering.
