Voya Financial, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to shape front-end strategy, mentor engineers, and build high-performance web experiences. You will lead a team, drive best practices, and influence architecture while delivering intuitive interfaces at scale.

You will collaborate with designers, product leaders, and back-end engineers, ensuring accessibility, maintainability, and robust deployments in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of front-end development experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+) and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, Next.js).
• Deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and accessibility (WCAG).
• Experience with architecture, state management, and design systems.
• Strong REST/GraphQL data handling; cloud experience with Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of user-facing features with modern front-end frameworks.
• Enforce front-end best practices in coding, testing, performance, and accessibility.
• Architect and maintain scalable component libraries and design systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, and back-end engineers to translate requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and mentoring to grow front-end team skills.
• Drive performance optimization for fast, responsive experiences.
• Address architectural challenges with balance of immediate and long-term needs.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and reliable front-end deployments.
• Champion accessibility and responsive design across devices.
• Stay current with front-end trends and participate in roadmap planning.
• Monitor production issues to ensure high availability and resilience.
