Job description

About Us

We are a rapidly growing, AI-first startup poised to redefine the CRE industry. We are scaling our team and our platform, transitioning from an agency-led model to a world-class in-house engineering organization. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor, establish the technical foundation, and shape the future of our SaaS platform

The Role

This is a founding-level, hands-on engineering role. You will work directly with the CTO and founders to own the architecture, quality, and velocity of our SaaS platform. This is not a people-management role. We are looking for a builder, someone who has shipped real systems, has strong opinions, and knows how to design things correctly the first time. Your primary mission is to own the quality and architecture of our SaaS platform, leveraging AI to accelerate execution while mentoring a growing team of talented engineers. You will be the ultimate authority on our codebase, driving the transition to a modern, scalable architecture and defining what it means to build software the "AI-first" way.

Key Responsibilities
Own the Codebase
  • Be the final authority on architecture, code quality, and technical direction
  • Lead the transition from a monolithic system to a scalable, service-oriented architecture on Azure
  • Set and enforce a very high bar for performance, reliability, security, and maintainability
Hands-On Development
  • Spend 70–80% of your time writing production code and refactoring core systems
  • Ship critical features and infrastructure yourself, leading by example
  • Review and approve all meaningful code changes
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
  • Mentor engineers through hands-on guidance, strong technical judgment, and example
  • Establish practical engineering standards without adding unnecessary process
  • Build a culture of ownership, speed, and craftsmanship
  • Use AI tools (Copilot, Cursor, internal tooling) to move faster and reduce defects
  • Make smart tradeoffs between speed and long-term system health
  • Drive the technical vision for our platform. Architect and implement robust, scalable solutions on Azure, leading our transition from a monolithic architecture to a modern Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Partner with Leadership
  • Work directly with the CTO and founders to turn product vision into real, scalable systems
  • Help shape technical priorities as the company grows
Job Requirements
  • 8+ years building real systems - Senior- or principal-level experience owning production SaaS platforms end to end, not just features.
  • Deep .NET mastery - Expert-level C# and .NET / .NET Core experience building complex, scalable applications.
  • Azure fluency - Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating systems on Azure (App Services, Azure SQL, Functions, Service Bus, APIs, etc.).
  • Architecture you’ve actually shipped - Proven experience breaking apart monoliths and moving toward service-oriented or microservices-based architectures in production.
  • High-ownership technical leadership - Experience as a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Principal Engineer responsible for code quality, architectural decisions, and mentoring other engineers.
  • AI-first builder mindset - Hands-on use of modern AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, etc.) and excitement about embedding AI across the development lifecycle to move faster and ship better software.
  • Code quality obsession - A strong track record of raising engineering standards through thoughtful, rigorous code reviews and refactoring efforts.
  • Modern web stack experience - Solid experience with ASP.NET MVC and at least one modern frontend framework (Angular or React).
  • Startup DNA - Comfortable with ambiguity, moving fast, and building from the ground up in a high-ownership environment.
  • Able to work US time zones
  • Able to provide 2–3 professional references
Nice to Have
  • Experience working across onshore and offshore engineering teams
  • Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
Compensation & Equity
  • Highly competitive compensation with meaningful founding-level equity. Equity is material, performance-based, and designed to grow with impact.
  • Base Salary $180,000 - $240,000
