East Bay Restaurant Supply, Inc. is seeking an Estimator to join our Estimating and Contracts Department in Oakland.

You will develop project costs and detailed bid packages for commercial foodservice construction, interpret drawings, perform takeoffs, and analyze vendor quotes for competitive proposals. The role emphasizes strong estimating skills, extensive foodservice equipment knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple bids with precision and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial foodservice equipment or related field.
• Experience preparing detailed bids, takeoffs, and cost estimates from drawings.
• Hands-on experience with AutoQuotes or similar estimating software is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of foodservice equipment, components, and standards.
• Familiarity with bid processes, solicitations, addenda, deadlines, and submissions.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings to understand project scope and equipment requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for equipment, materials, and installation.
• Develop accurate cost estimates including pricing, freight, taxes, and labor allowances.
• Coordinate and assemble complete bid packages with supporting docs.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotes for competitive pricing.
• Prepare bid proposals and quotations for contractors and end users on time.
• Maintain estimating files using Google Drive and shared folders.
• Update bids and revisions, tracking status and follow-up actions.
• Use Excel and Google Sheets to build estimating templates and reports.
• Assist in handoff of awarded projects to project management.
