Job summary

University of Washington Dining, part of Housing & Food Services (HFS), is seeking a Food Service Worker 2 to join our fast-paced, guest-focused team. You will lead a mix of full-time and student staff, help prepare and serve food and beverages, operate a grill or fryer, and assist cooks while delivering excellent customer service across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.
• One year of experience preparing and serving food and beverages.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in food preparation, beverage production, serving and dishwashing.
• Perform basic prep such as paring fruits and vegetables, reheating soups, assembling sandwiches and salads, toasting bread, and preparing hot and cold beverages.
• May act as a short order cook at a grill, fryer, or similar workspace.
• Set up station, stock/restock, and rotate supplies according to established plans, par levels and food handling policies and procedures.
• Take inventory counts using tally sheets from CBORD FSS system.
• Assign student, hourly or Food Service Workers 1 to meet production and service needs.
• May lead staff at an individual platform, station or café.
