Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Lead Food Service Worker to operate inside the Onslow County Jail in Jacksonville, NC. You will lead inmate labor, prepare and serve meals following standardized recipes and procedures, and ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of experience in a food service role.
• Experience in institutional food service or restaurant is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepares and assists in the preparation of a variety of food items following recipes and standards.
• Instructs inmate labor in food preparation and follows institution work instructions.
• Handle production and sanitation paperwork to ensure compliance with facility procedures.
• Ensure cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and work areas, following safety practices.
• Follow institution requirements in preparation, oversight, and serving of meals.

About This Position

This position is working inside a jail/correctional facility at the Onslow County Jail.

The Lead Food Service Worker performs a variety of kitchen duties as assigned and preparing and serving of correctional facility meals in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Independently prepares, assists, or instructs inmate labor/team members in the preparation of a variety of food items in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and Institution work instructions.
• Will be required to handle production paperwork and/or sanitation paperwork essential to be in compliance with facility procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring the cleaning and maintenance of all food service equipment and work areas is completed; confirm proper safety and sanitation practices are being followed.
• Follows prescribed institution requirements in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals
• Follows assigned institution housekeeping and safety practices as instructed.
• Stores food and supplies in accordance with instructions.
• Performs in high volume food production facilities preparing food for large groups.
• May perform other duties as assigned

What Youll Need

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 1 year or more of experience working in a food service role
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
