Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals inside the Onslow County Jail. The role reports to the Food Service Director and operates on-site within the correctional facility.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or GED, be 18+, and bring a passion for food service, teamwork, and learning. Prior institutional food service experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; must be 18+ years old.
• Preferred experience in institutional food service or restaurant.
• Able to work in a jail/correctional setting and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in cooking quality foods according to menu and recipes.
• Keep workstation clean and organized; handle trash, sweeping and mopping as needed.
• Serve food according to planned meal schedules and procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook according to recipes.
• Follow all sanitation and food safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

About This Position

This position is working inside a jail/correctional facility at the Onslow County Jail.

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
