About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor performs a variety of kitchen duties as assigned and/or instructs inmate labor in preparation and serving of correctional facility meals in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions.

Please note: Supervisory duties are in relation to supervising inmate labor.

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities

• Independently prepares, assists, or instructs inmate labor/team members in the preparation of a variety of food items in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and Institution work instructions.
• Handles production paperwork and sanitation paperwork essential for compliance with facility procedures.
• Ensures cleaning and maintenance of all food service equipment and work areas, following safety and sanitation practices.
• Follows prescribed institution requirements in all meal preparation, oversight, and serving activities.
• Adheres to institution housekeeping and safety practices as instructed.
• Stores food and supplies according to instructions.
• Performs in high volume food production facilities preparing food for large groups.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 18 years of age.
• 1+ years of experience in a food service role.
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
