Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Lead Food Service Worker to prepare and serve items in a correctional setting. The role reports to a Food Service Director and is located on-site inside a jail facility. Ideal candidates are passionate about food, understand safety regulations, and excel in teamwork and adaptability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Prior institutional food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu and recipes.
• Maintain a neat and food-safe workstation; clean as you go and handle trash, sweeping and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules according to procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook food per recipes.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks in an organized and clean manner.
• Stand, lift, bend, push, kneel and walk for extended periods as required.
• Fulfill other duties as needed by operations.

About This Position

The Lead Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
• Preferred:
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
