Job summary

Wawa, Inc. is seeking a Lead Laboratory Analyst in the Quality Assurance department to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.

The role will supervise calibration, maintenance, and data integrity across laboratory operations within the WBC team. Applicants should have 3–5 years in a dairy or food quality laboratory, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and readiness to pursue PA certification as a Laboratory Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a quality control laboratory in the food industry, dairy preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated high level of proficiency in laboratory testing procedures, protocols and techniques.
  • Achieve certification from the PA Department of Agriculture as an approved Laboratory Director for Appendix N module within 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize food safety best practices by following all processes and procedures and escalating issues.
  • Comply with all GMP policies and procedures.
  • Work rotating shifts to maintain uninterrupted lab services for WBC Operations.
  • Manage calibration and maintenance schedules for lab equipment; coordinate with vendors.
  • Maintain QA Studio updates and SOPs, provide hands-on training to analysts.
  • Ensure laboratory data accuracy and report trends to QA and Operations leadership.
