Job summary

Scripps Health in Encinitas, CA is seeking a Lead for Food and Nutrition Services. This full-time role oversees staff, ensures tasks are completed correctly, and serves as weekend supervisor when the manager is unavailable.

You will coordinate safe food handling, production, menu development, meal assembly, inventory, equipment, customer service, HR and fiscal performance, while complying with JCAHO and Title XXII regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff to ensure tasks are completed appropriately.
• Be the person in charge on weekends and when the supervisor is unavailable.
• Coordinate in food service operations: safe food handling, volume production, menu development, meal assembly and portion control, inventory management, equipment operation, customer service, HR and financial performance, infection control/sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with JCAHO, Title XXII and other regulations.

Job description

This is a full-time position located at our Scripps Memorial campus in Encinitas. Must be available to work a varied shift (start time will be dependent upon the department's need and will include both morning and evening shifts) and varied schedule including Sundays.

As the Lead for Food and Nutrition Services, your main duties will include oversight of staff to ensure tasks are completed appropriately. You will also be the person in charge on weekends and when the supervisor is unavailable. You will provide leadership and coordination in the following Food Service operational systems: safe food handling, volume food production, menu development and modification, meal assembly and portion control, inventory management, food service equipment operations, customer service, human resources management, financial performance, infection control/sanitation and overall department function. Participates in the planning, coordination, preparation and volume production of meals for patients, cafeteria, and catering/special events. Complies with JCAHO, Title XXII and other regulations.
